G & Iced Tea

Prep Time: 5-10 Minutes for both

Difficulty: Easy

Makes: 400ml or 1.5L (serves 1 or up to 5)

Ingredients for 400ml (one glass) of G & iced tea:

  • 9g or 2 teaspoons of our G & Tea loose tea
  • 400ml of water
  • 200g of ice (or however much desired)
  • 4g or 2 teaspoons of sugar or honey upon preference (if desired).
  • mint spriggs, lemon and cucumber slices to garnish

Sweetening is less essential for green tea as its natural sweetness is mostly favoured, however, sometimes experimenting with different levels of sweetening can be helpful to reach your preferred taste!

Honey works great with iced tea!

Directions

  1. Put the ice aside for now and prepare a container that can contain 400ml of fluid and withstand the hot tea without breaking.
  2. Bring the water to boil in a pot or kettle and allow the water to come down from the boil slightly before pouring it over the tea strainer or paper filter. Allow the tea to brew for 2 to 3 minutes while in the fridge. Remove the paper filter/strainer once the tea has brewed to your desirable strength.
  3. After removing the tea from the water, stir in your sweetener and allow it to stand for a minute.
  4. Carefully pour the brewed tea over the ice in a glass or cup. Most of the ice will melt instantly. Refrigerate the tea further before serving and add more ice if desired.
  5. Garnish with cucumber and lemon slices and enjoy!
